Isn’t this all very exciting?!?!? You, a blogger?!?!? Who would have thought, right?

So, hopefully, at this point, you have decided to try yourself out as a blogger. You have chosen your niche, figured out what you want to call your blog, secured your domain name and bought a web hosting plan. You are ready to start tearin’ up your keyboard chronicling your musings.

But how will you get your blog out there? Remember what I said yesterday? Google does not care that you have just launched your blog. At best, in a couple of weeks, they may come to be vaguely aware that a tiny little website has made its way to the world wide web.

Driving Traffic to Your Blog

What am I saying? Getting readers to your blog is 100% your job. Read more about this in, This is How to Drive Tons of Traffic to Your Blog for FREE on Pinterest, using Tailwind. You shouldn’t expect to start ranking on Google for at least a couple of months, more likely years, if at all. I know that my words may land like a kick in the gut, but it’s the truth and if I got your attention, I have no regrets.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, Au Contraire Mon Ami. This is actually a cause for celebration, because you don’t have to rely on anybody but yourself to get your blog out there. If you’re like me, that’s fantastic, because if you work really hard, you will get really good results. You are in control. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Bad News

That being said, your only options are to use social media and other platforms to drive visitors to your blog. On this note, I have more bad news for you: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and everything that you are thinking about right now just won’t cut it. Don’t get me wrong, they are not entirely useless in this regard, but if these are going to be your only hope you may as well just give up now because the odds are simply against you. The only way will have a fighting chance at promoting your blog using only these platforms will be if you have a decent budget. But even then, it wouldn’t be your most efficient attempt because all these platforms are designed to keep their users on them for as long as possible, not lead them elsewhere.

The Good News

There is good news though. There is a way you can generate a lot of organic traffic for your site. But wait, it gets even better: this way will not cost you a single penny!

*Drumroll*…      …”Enter Pinterest!”

Pinterest is about to be your best friend in the whole wide world. Pinterest is one of the best ways to find your audience, find out what they want you to blog about and drive them to your blog. All of this, and more, can be done with Pinterest alone!

How though? What makes it different from all other social media? I am glad you asked.

Pinterest is not a social media platform so much as a search engine. What? Yes. Did you notice that I didn’t include YouTube in my list above? This is because it too is not a social media platform and much more a search engine.

Google links you to websites that contain pages that contain the information you are searching for. YouTube leads you to channels that contain videos that contain the information that you are searching for. Pinterest links you to accounts that contain pins that represent articles or blog posts that contain the information that you are searching for. Search engines; these are the lifeblood of your blog. Remember that!

You can best leverage Pinterest to grow your blog in using Tailwind, the only Pinterest-approved pin scheduler.

About Me

Personal Finance & Entrepreneurship

Mechanical Engineer,
turned Financial Advisor,
turned Personal Finance Blogger.

I learned early on in my career that it doesn’t matter how much money you make if you don’t know how to spend it and make it work for you.

Reading about personal finance, business and entrepreneurship became my passion. I knew that if I wanted to be successful, I would need to learn how to sell.

I quit my engineering to become a Financial Advisor, earning on commission only, to learn about money.

Here, I share what I have learned with you.
