So, you’re thinking of Starting Your Own Blog with Bluehost, but you can’t think of anything to blog about. This blog post is for you.

To be honest, I actually got quite lucky in this regard; my blogging niche, personal finance, is a relatively popular one. The real reason I even got to give possible blogging niches any decent thought was because I was so happy when I decided to start my blog that I really wanted my fiancée to start her own blog as well. She couldn’t imagine what she could possibly Start to Blog Fulltime about.

This is how this list was born. In order to show her that she could do it too, she and I started to mull over various avenues that blogging could take. I had this list that we came up with lying around, so I thought you may be able to benefit from it as well.

Blog Niche Ideas

Here are topics and subtopics that she and I were able to think purely based on content we have come across in our lifetimes. I tell you this to let you know that, to a great degree, this list is based on our own interests, interests that people in our lives may have, or topics neither of us is interested in, but know other people are interested in.

The point is, this is by no means an exhaustive list. And you can blog about a combination of these if you like, although I advise you to choose a single topic that you are very strong in, grow your audience, and let your readers guide you into speaking about any other topics you may want to add to your topic pool.

By ourselves, we could think of 125 blog niche ideas. Don’t be concerned if your favorite topic is not here. The only purpose of this list is to give you an idea of what to blog about and to show you just how much there is to blog about. If all this list does is simply inspire you to think of something totally different that isn’t even on this list, I have still done my part. All I want is for you obliterate any excuses you may have and just start your blog!

These are all in alphabetical order. None of these are better than the other per se.

My Final Thoughts

While it is true that certain blogging niches tend to make more money than others, I have heard of a great many bloggers that have garnered massive success in niches that you and I would probably not have easily thought of.

My advice is to blog about something that you are either, truly passionate or very knowledgeable about, better yet, both. Everyone I know that makes good money in a relatively unpopular niche does so because they smash it when it comes to quality content and thus knock it out of the park by dominating their respective markets.

If you are truly passionate, your research will excite you, and you will be excited to share your findings. Your blog posts and ideas will be relevant and life-filled. So don’t worry too much about not being an expert in the blogging niche that you choose, but do pay a great amount of attention to how passionate you are about it. Your readers will be able to tell. If you ignore this, your blog will fail and you may not understand why.

When I was younger, my mother, a clinical psychologist told me not to study to become a Mechanical Engineer. Part of what she does is administering psychometric tests, so she would know best. Against her better judgment, I went ahead and became an engineer. A mere three years later, I had already left the industry. “Mama was right!”

Don’t try to live a lie. Choose your niche first, and figure out how to make money from it second.

About Me

Personal Finance & Entrepreneurship

Mechanical Engineer,
turned Financial Advisor,
turned Personal Finance Blogger.

I learned early on in my career that it doesn’t matter how much money you make if you don’t know how to spend it and make it work for you.

Reading about personal finance, business and entrepreneurship became my passion. I knew that if I wanted to be successful, I would need to learn how to sell.

I quit my engineering to become a Financial Advisor, earning on commission only, to learn about money.

Here, I share what I have learned with you.
